St. Ana Monastery Str. Pamfil Seicaru 6, Orsova, Mehedinti Located on the highest point of Orsova with a great view of the Danube, St Ana Monastery is a major attraction for tourists. The monastery has been founded by Pamfil Seicaru in 1920's in the memory of the World War I martyrs. After the World War II and during the communist period, the monastery has been transformed in a children recreation camp. In 1990 the Monastery has become a monastic place for nuns. |

Tismana Monastery Tismana (15 km North of Baia de Arama), Mehedinti Tismana Monastery - also named "The Star of Orthodoxy" - is one of the oldest and the most beautiful monasteries in Romania. This monument, built in the middle of the nature, is perfect for those who want to gather their thoughts, to be close to God and to get to know the Romanian Orthodox religion.
